Lucky 13

13 things I love about Stewart:

1. I love that he makes me laugh every day. He is absolutely the funniest person I have ever met.
2. I love his passion for all things Kentucky. It doesn't mean I don't think he's crazy but he is true blue all the way!!!
3. I love that he will tell me what he thinks, not what he thinks I want to hear.
4. I love that he provides for us.
5. I love that he wants to coach our kids teams.
6. I love that he is the voice of reason when I need it most.
7. I love that he is spontaneous.
8. I love that he fights fair.
9. I love that he is a believer in God. Never doubted, never will.
10.I love his beautiful blue eyes.
11.I love that he'd rather be at home with us more than anywhere else in the world.
12.I love that he doesn't mind that I'm not a good cook.
13.I love that he said "yes" to a blind date 18 years ago.

Happy Anniversary Stewart! I love you!!!!

Laundry Fairy

I don't fall behind very often, but when I do it becomes a serious undertaking. I am talking about laundry. I do a pretty good job of staying on top of it although it is one of my absolute least favorite things to do. If there were ever something I might wish for( not including the obvious like health, world peace and education for all) it might just be a laundry fairy to wash, dry, separate, fold and put it all away. This is the mountain I am tackling tonight and there is still one load in the wash and another in the dryer! Laundry Fairy--take me away!!!

Halloween 2009

2 chickens, candy corn and a hobo!

O'Fallon JR Renegades

Owen officially completed his first season of tackle football with his best game yet. When I told Stewart I had signed Owen up for football he was less than excited. Even though football is his thing, he just didn't think Owen was ready. Thankfully, for both Owen and I, he proved his dad wrong by tackling and blocking week after week. He played tight end and defensive tackle. He was clearly one of the smallest players out there weighing in at 52 pounds soaking wet! More importantly, he showed that size didn't matter as he was often lined up against the other teams biggest players. Week after week he battled and fought and stood his ground. Today he was able to tackle the other team for several losses. He was so proud of himself and loved having Stewart by his side as an assistant coach on his team.

Chase finished up his regular season today as well. His team went 7-0 while he played linebacker. He's come a long way considering he spent most of his first season on the sidelines crying. There were several times that year that we asked Chase if he wanted to play. H e just kept plugging away. His second season he improved tremendously yet his team went 1-6. Something just clicked this year and he became unafraid to take a hit or make a hit. He got a feeling for the game and found that he really liked it. It has been so much fun watching him really begin to grasp the fundamentals of the game. His team has earned home field advantage and the #1 seed in the playoffs.

I am just so proud of them both for really putting in the work. They have been practicing since mid July and haven't missed a single practice or game. It would have been easy for them to want to take a break or skip out on practice but each night they put their gear on and went ready to play. I think the Parker boys have got a lot of football left and I'm ready. I'm officially a football mom!

Owen

After telling me he was full but wanted Halloween candy Owen said, "no mom, my dinner sack is full, but my candy sack has plenty of room!"
